your chiropractic care

Diagnosis: in order for your chiropractor to understand all of the possible causes of your condition, your first chiropractic appointment begins with a full medical history. A past accident or operation may have contributed to the present problem. This medical history remains completely confidential.

The chiropractor then performs a comprehensive physical examination to determine your state of health and the cause of your problem. Where necessary, x-ray examination is available on-site.

On the basis of these findings, the chiropractor will talk with you about the diagnosis and suggested treatment plan.

Treatment: the chiropractor adjusts spine and other joints in a precise, yet gentle way. Chiropractic adjustments or manipulations improve joint movement, relieve pain and reduce nerve irritation and muscle spasm. The adjustment represents the hallmark of chiropractic treatment and has defined the profession for over 100 years.

The chiropractor also treats muscle problems and advises you about posture and exercise - what to do and what to avoid, both in the immediate post-treatment period and also generally thereafter. This advice maximises the benefit of the treatment and minimises the possibility of your pain returning.

Subsequent appointments: Each treatment plan is individual and a series of consultations may be recommended to help you become pain free and to manage the cause of your problem.
